The Motorized Monocycle

March 31st, 2009

the-motorized-monocycle

If you’ve been waiting for personal transport that darts you around looking like the Firefox logo, your time has come. Hop aboard the Motorized Monocycle and you’ll be tooling about at speeds up to 25 MPH while powered by a 31cc, four-stroke 1 1/2-hp engine.

Amazon.com explains that it “operates by using a centrifugal clutch on its inner steel frame to engage the larger 67″ diam. outer flywheel that actually makes contact with the ground with a rubber tire.” They go on to state that the device is steered by leaning to one side or the other, and can safely negotiate any dense surface such as pavement or grass.

So what are you waiting for? It can run for up to two hours on less than a 1/2-gallon of gasoline. In times like these, you can’t afford to not get one.

Ferrari 599XX

March 1st, 2009

ferrari 599xx

Ferrari has announced that they will be debuting a new car at this year’s Geneva Motor Show: the Ferrari 599XX.

The 599XX will serve as Ferrari’s rolling testbed for the latest technological developments from the company’s road-going and Formula One work. Although specifics haven’t been revealed, Ferrari claims many of the systems implemented for the 599XX are being used for the first time and are exclusivly developed for the model.  Essentially the 599xx is a developmental version of the 599 that blends the company’s latest technology with customer input. The program is similar to the FXX program that used modified Ferrari Enzos.

In the words of Ferrari, it’s “aimed at a select group of clients,” so look for it to make it to the road in some form.
