Beck - “Guero” (W/Dvd) [COLLECTOR'S EDITION]

April 10th, 2009

beck-guero

Sunny days and warm breezes have found us again. It’s now time to re-experience Beck’s brilliant 2005 album “Guero”; THE summer album of that year. Amazon now has it packaged as it SHOULD be, with all the B-Sides and bonus tracks included (including the beautifully catchy “A Message To Her”), AND it comes with a DVD.

“Guero” was Beck’s sixth major-label studio album, has sold close to 900,000 copies, and was his highest charting release topping out at #2 on Billboard’s Top 200 Album chart. On it, he joined forces with The Dust Brothers, The Beastie Boys, Jack White and even Christina Ricci. Sweet, sweet music was the product. Experience it once again.

Emma Hemming

April 3rd, 2009

emma-hemming

Who is she? We have no idea. Where did she come from? Who knows. This is what we do know: She’s been in three films, and an episode of Entourage. Additionally, she was Named #86 on the Maxim magazine “Hot 100 of 2005″ and was very recently married to Bruce Willis. Yes, that Bruce Willis. Well done, Sir!

Album of the Week: Dark Was The Night

February 26th, 2009

dark_was_the_night_album_compliation

This is not your parents AIDS Awareness compilation album. There is no over-arching theme, no fancy star-studded album cover peppered with clods of headphone-wearing do-gooders. To be found within the grooves of this double-disc project is a peaceful smattering of an indie music scene representing the late years of this dubious decade.

When I say peaceful, I mean it. Even The National comes through quietly with “So Far Around the Bend” and this thing just SCREAMS quiet rainy afternoon.
